El pasado mes de abril fue en el Colegio Carmen Hernández
Guarch de Tres Cantos el mes del libro. Entre otras actividades, contamos con
la presencia de autoridades para la reinauguración de una biblioteca totalmente
reestructurada, que ahora se llama Biblioteca Julio Pinto. Ahora, más que una
biblioteca es un centro de consulta, con ordenadores conectados a Internet y
que, junto con la sala de usos múltiples y la sala de informática, es uno de
los tres centros de recursos con los que contamos en el colegio (aparte de
tener ordenadores y pizarras digitales en todas las aulas). También se explicó
el uso de la “nueva” biblioteca a los profesores y se hicieron visitas guiadas
a los alumnos, que incluyeron cuenta-cuentos en el nuevo espacio de nuevos
lectores.
También celebramos la feria del libro inglés. Los libreros
británicos Ruth y Justin contaron a los alumnos cuentos en inglés y los padres
y el público en general tuvo acceso al centro al mediodía y por la tarde,
después del horario escolar. ¡La iniciativa fue todo un éxito!
Además, el día del libro el colegio (tanto los profesores
como los alumnos y las paredes) se vistió de personajes literarios. Hubo cuenta
cuentos en inglés en los que se mezclaron las clases y se realizaron talleres
por ciclos de forrado de libros, reciclado de papel y encuadernado,
ilustración, microcuentos rimados, emparejar ilustraciones con cuentos,
marcapáginas y otro sobre las técnicas de cuentos de Rodari.
El colegio participó en dos ediciones de libros. Por un
lado, el AMPA del colegio editó un libro con relatos e ilustraciones de
Educación Primaria y, por otro, la casa de la cultura del ayuntamiento publicó
un libro, llamado Pingoletas, en el
que participaron todos los colegios del municipio. Los niños más pequeños
ilustraron relatos escritos por los mayores, de modo que todo el colegio tomó
parte en la actividad.
BOOK MONTH IN TRES CANTOS, MADRID
Last April we celebrated the month of the book
at Carmen Hernández Guarch primary school in Tres Cantos, Madrid. Along with other activities, we
enjoyed the visit of authorities for the re-inauguration of a totally renewed
library, now called “Julio Pinto” library. Now, with the addition of computers
connected to the net, it is more a resources’ centre than a library. Together
with the multiple uses room and the computers room, it is one of the three
resources centres that we have in the school (apart from having computers and
digital whiteboards on every classroom). Also, the teachers were taught how to
use the “new” library and there were guided visited for the students that
included story-telling at the new space for new readers.
We also had the English book fair. The British
book-sellers Ruth and Justin told English stories to the students. Also, the
parents and the general public had the chance to come up to the school during
the mid-day break and after school. It was a complete success!
Furthermore, the school dressed up of
literature characters on Book Day: teachers, students and walls! There was
English story telling with mixed-up classes. There were also workshops
on book wrapping, paper recycling, book binding, riming short stories, matching
illustration and stories, book-markers and store techniques.
The school participated on two book editions. On
one hand, the parents association published a book with Primary Education
students’ stories and, on the other hand, the Tres Cantos town council
published a book, called “Pingoletas”, with stories written and illustrated by
students from all the public schools in town. The smaller children illustrated
stories written by the older students, so everyone participated.
