EL CARMEN HERNÁNDEZ DE TRES CANTOS APRENDE SOBRE ÁFRICA

El colegio Carmen Hernández Guarch de Tres Cantos (Madrid) lleva años embarcado en un proyecto de educación para el desarrollo. De hecho, el colegio ganó el premio nacional de Educación para el Desarrollo “Vicente Ferrer” del Ministerio de Educación. El pasado curso escolar el proyecto se enfocó en el conocimiento de África y América Latina y este año se está centrando en el aprendizaje sobre Asia.

Todo el colegio está implicado en el proyecto, de modo que al inicio del curso pasado, dentro de varias asignaturas, se aprovechó para aprender sobre África. Así, los niños de Infantil jugaron a juegos africanos y aprendieron sobre fauna africana, y los mayores fueron a la biblioteca a buscar información sobre África e hicieron una obra de títeres sobre África para los pequeñitos, entre muchísimas otras actividades.

También el festival de Navidad fue monográfico sobre África. Así, los niños cantaron canciones de este continente e hicieron una obra de teatro de temática africana.

En el último trimestre se organizó una exposición en la biblioteca del centro con todos los trabajos hechos por los distintos cursos. La exhibición estuvo abierta a los padres y al público en general y fue todo un éxito. En la foto y el vídeo podéis ver lo chulo que quedó.

CARMEN HERNÁNDEZ SCHOOL FROM TRES CANTOS LEARNS ABOUT AFRICA

Carmen Hernández Guarch school from Tres Cantos, Madrid has been participating on an education for devolopment project for some time now. In fact, this school has won the national prize for education for development “Vicente Ferrer”, awarded by the Spanish Ministry of Education. Last school year the project was focused on the learning about Africa and Latin America and this school year is centered on the knowledge of Asia.

The whole school participates on this project, so at the beginning of last school year, students learnt about Africa as part of their work on several subjects. Infants were playing African games and learnt about African animals. The oldest children went to the school library to research about this continent and they also showed a puppets’ play for the little ones, among many, many other activities.

Also, the school’s Chrismas festival was centered on Africa. The students sang songs from this continent and they showed a play about Africa.

During the last term, an exhibition was organized at the school library, in which all the works the students from every grade made were shown.. The exhibition was open to parents and to the general public and it was a great success, as you can see on the photo and the video clip.
