Padres de alumnos colaboran en la biblioteca del Carmen Hernández

Como saben los lectores del blog del proyecto ARCE E-Reading for Everyone, la biblioteca escolar del CEIP Carmen Hernández Guarch de Tres Cantos (Madrid) ha sido completamente remodelada. Para ello, ha contado con la colaboración de varios padres para ponerla al día. Estos padres estuvieron a las órdenes de los responsables de la biblioteca, Carmen Arribas e Isabel Pobes, y ayudaron sobre todo a poner los códigos de barras a los libros, entre otros muchos cometidos.

Una de ellas, Esther Rodríguez, explica que “yo iba por las tardes de lunes a viernes una hora y media y me dedicaba a poner códigos de barras y a comprobar que los libros estuvieran bien catalogados para que el lector láser los reconociera automáticamente, porque los códigos que había no valían.

Esther se mostraba encantada con la experiencia, que calificaba de “buena”. “Nos gustó mucho”, decía, “me parece muy positivo que los padres se impliquen en el colegio como voluntarios si pueden, por supuesto. Nosotras hacíamos lo que nos decían. Nos gusta ser útiles y, como tenemos tiempo... Yo animaría a los padres a ayudar en el colegio. Seguro que hay algo en lo que cada uno puede ayudar, de acuerdo con la cantidad de tiempo libre que tengan los papás”.

También se mostraba exultante tras la experiencia otra de las voluntarias, Sonia del Amo, que decía: “Me lo pasé genial y además encontré una amiga, Esther, y estoy muy agradecida al colegio por brindarme esta oportunidad de participar y sentirse útil en el colegio de mi hija. ¡Es fenomenal!”.

En cuanto a si cree que los padres se involucran lo suficiente en el centro escolar, dijo que “cada uno es libre de hacer lo que crea conveniente con su tiempo, pero yo, personalmente, lo recomendaría a todo el mundo porque fue una experiencia agradable, entretenida y maravillosa. ¡Lo pasamos bien!”.

Así que ya saben, papis y mamis, ¡todos a seguir el ejemplo de estas voluntariosas madres!

Students’ Parents help at Carmen Hernández’s library

As you, readers of the E-Reading for Everyone ARCE project blog probably know, Carmen Hernández Guarch school library from Tres Cantos, Madrid, has been totally refurbished. To achieve this, some students’ parents helped update it. They followed the instructions of librarians Carmen Arribas and Isabel Pobes, and basically helped sticking the books barcodes, among other things.

One of them, Esther Rodríguez, said “I went to the library every afternoon from Monday to Friday for one and a half hours and my work was sticking barcodes and checking that the books were properly cataloged, so the laser reader could recognize them automatically, because the former sistem we had was no longer good.

Esther loved the experience, which she said it was “good”. “We had a lot of fun”, she said, “the idea of parents being involved at the school as volunteers is very positive… if they can, of course. We did everything we were told. We like being useful and he have the time. I would encourage every parent helping at school. I’m sure there’s something each one of us can help in, acording to the amount of free time each one has”.

Another helping parent who was very happy with the experience was Sonia del Amo, who said: “I had a lot of fun and I also met someone who became a new friend, Esther. I am very grateful to the school for giving me the chance of participating and being useful at my daughter’s school. It’s great!”

Regarding if she thinks parents are sufficiently involved at the school activities, she told us: “each one is free to do what they want with their time, but, personally, I would recomend everyone this experience because it was nice, fun and wonderful. We really had fun!
